Shelled Nut's

I was visiting Dothan, Alabama and decided to go to the park to see if I could get a few shots of Squirrels.  I noticed a concrete picnic table with shelled nuts on it.  As I watched, I noticed that the squirrels were gathering these nuts and taking them to the picnic table.  These squirrels were using the hard surface of the concrete table to crack the nuts.  I was amazed of the intelligence level of a Squirrel.

Backyard Pond Life

"The Pond"  The pond was built this summer in order to fulfill my quest of creating a natural backyard habitat for wildlife.

The first addition to the pond was Bullfrog Tadpoles that have transformed into Baby Bullfrogs.

The Red Eared Turtle was a nice addition to the pond.  He has made himself at home perched on his turtle ramp enjoying the sun.

The twin bloom of the Peach Lilly Pad was a beautiful addition to the pond.  Everyday they open up and say thanks to the heavens.

Baby Wood Duck

This little guy hopped on the rail of the dock, but little did he know the sun was heating up the wood.  This little guy now had hot feet.  He then proceeded to do the switch foot dance.  He would stand on one foot for a few moments then switch to the other.  He never did figure it out, but had extremely good balance.

His buddy decided to hop up on the rail also and started the very same hot foot dance..  Pretty amusing,

Green Heron

This Green Heron was a surprise shot.  As I rounded the corner expecting to feed the baby ducks, I was face to face with the Green Heron perched up on the rail of the dock waiting on me.  He only allowed me to get off one shot before he flew away.  I just knew this was gonna end up out of focus.  God shined down on me, cause I nailed the shot.  Thank You God for showing me your beauty !!!!
